Quickstart

This walk opens a buy request for GPU nodes, waits for quotes, and reads them. Set the venue once so the commands below stay short:

export STOA_ENV=prod

1. Sign in

stoa login

Enter your email, password and second factor. Login and sessions has the detail. stoa whoami confirms the marketplace is ready for your organization.

2. Find the hardware

The catalog lists the categories the venue trades and the GPU parts a request can name:

stoa categories
stoa assets search h100

Each part has a slug, for example h100-sxm5. The request file names the GPU by that slug.

3. Read the request schema

The venue publishes every field a request accepts, with its allowed values and bounds:

stoa rfq schema

Add --json to get the same schema as structured data. The Request file page explains the fields in reading order.

4. Print a request file and fill it in

stoa rfq template --direction BUY > h100-nodes.toml

The file is commented TOML. Open it in an editor and fill in the hardware, the quantity, the terms and the delivery location. Leave a field out when you have no requirement for it.

5. Validate with a dry run

stoa rfq create -f h100-nodes.toml --dry-run

The venue reads the file through the same validation the web form uses and prints the composition it would freeze: the asset, the configuration split into firm specifications and minimums, the quantity and unit, the terms, and the delivery details dealers will see. It also prints the binding statement. Nothing is sent. Fix the file until the dry run is clean.

6. Open the request

stoa rfq create -f h100-nodes.toml

The client prints the same summary, then the statement you agree to when you send:

I have reviewed the details above and agree that this request and any resulting trade are governed by the Terms of Sale. Accepting a quote creates a binding trade.

Type yes to send. The request goes to every invitable dealer on the venue, and the client prints the request number, the number of dealers invited, the quote deadline and the link:

Created RFQ STOA-RFQ-7K3Q9M (ACTIVE) at 2026-09-26 17:04 UTC; dealers invited: <count>; quote deadline 2026-10-03 17:04 UTC.
Review and accept: https://markets.stoaexchange.com/rfq/6f1c...

Every create carries an idempotency key, printed in the summary. Running the same command again with --idempotency-key <key> returns the existing request instead of opening a second one, and the client labels the result REPLAY.

7. Read the quotes

Dealers quote until the deadline. Your organization's requests, newest first:

stoa rfq list

One request with its configuration, the dealers invited, and every quote received:

stoa rfq get 6f1c...

For each quote the client shows the dealer, the price per unit and the total, the grade offered, the quantity available, the lead time, the warranty, the validity, and the dealer's conditions. --json returns the same data for a script or an agent.

8. Accept in the web application

Open the link printed by rfq get, review the quote, and accept it there. Accepting a quote creates a binding trade and the web application is the only place that step is offered. Settlement then proceeds as it does for any Stoa Markets trade.
